Police
(3/11/2010) Q: If I am asked to pay more in taxes I want good police patrols. Why is it that the Hill and Fair Haven get so much police and the East Shore gets so little?
A: Police deployment is often determined based on density which demonstrates why you may see more patrol cars in Fair Haven and the Hill as compared to the East Shore. While you may see fewer squad cars at a given time, you should know that officers on motorcycles are in the East Shore continuously providing motor vehicle enforcement. Further, the Department's Auto Theft Unit spends a significant portion of their time serving the East Shore neighborhoods.
